ALSANCAK MAIN ROAD – NAVIGATION-BASED LANE DRIFT AFTER 23:00

After 23:00, the character of the Alsancak Main Road changes again. Commercial activity reduces, but destination variability increases. Many drivers are no longer moving between familiar daily points. They are searching.

Navigation screens begin to dominate attention.

Time pattern: 23:00–01:00, especially Fridays and Saturdays.

Unlike peak return traffic, late-night corridor flow is lighter but less predictable. Some vehicles travel steadily westbound toward residential areas. Others slow intermittently while verifying directions to cafés, apartments, or beachside venues.

A typical sequence unfolds:

Vehicle A proceeds westbound at moderate night speed.
Driver glances at navigation for upcoming turn confirmation.
Steering input softens unconsciously.
Vehicle drifts slightly within the lane envelope.
An eastbound vehicle approaches simultaneously under headlight glare.

The drift is subtle but cumulative.

Alsancak differs from daytime corridors because wayfinding uncertainty is higher at night. Street signage is less legible. Side streets are less illuminated. Drivers rely more heavily on mobile navigation prompts, which often announce turns with short notice.

The visual field is already compressed by headlight glare and storefront illumination. When gaze drops briefly to a screen, lane centering precision decreases.

Historically, as short-term rentals and hospitality venues expanded in the 2010s and 2020s, unfamiliar-driver volume increased at night. The corridor design did not change. Behavioral load did.

Compounding this is delayed turn recognition. A driver may realize the intended turn is imminent and attempt a minor lane correction or deceleration while still processing navigation instructions.

The structural seam forms under four interacting conditions:

Reduced night traffic density
Increased unfamiliar-driver ratio
Screen glance distraction
Opposing headlight compression

The risk is not speed. It is divided attention within a visually saturated corridor.

After 23:00, the Alsancak Main Road becomes a search corridor rather than a commute corridor.

The vehicle appears centered.
The drift begins before the driver notices.
