Hail Damage Repairs Continue in Güzelyurt

Following the hailstorm that affected Güzelyurt on 29 August 2026, repairs to vehicles reported through the CAN Sigorta Güzelyurt Service Point are continuing under the coordination of our Claims Department.

The hailstones caused dents of varying depth, particularly across vehicle roofs, bonnets, boot lids and upper body panels. The extent of the damage differed from one vehicle to another, depending on how long it remained exposed, the construction of its body panels and the angle of impact.

Each Vehicle Is Assessed Panel by Panel

Before repairs begin, each vehicle is inspected individually to determine the number, depth and location of the dents. Where the paintwork has not cracked or separated from the panel, paintless dent repair, commonly known as PDR, is used to preserve the vehicle’s original factory finish.

During this process, technicians gain access to the reverse side of the affected panel and gradually restore its original shape using specialist tools. Where rear access is restricted, alternative techniques appropriate to the panel’s construction are applied.

The objective is not simply to remove the visible dent. The natural contour of the panel and the consistency of its surface reflection must also be restored as closely as possible.

Repair Times Vary Between Vehicles

The repair period is not determined solely by the number of visible dents. Vehicles requiring the removal of roof linings, dents positioned along sharp body lines, and panels containing a high concentration of small impacts may require more detailed and time-consuming work.

Claims reported through the Güzelyurt Service Point are therefore being monitored alongside each stage of the technical repair process. Vehicle inspections, repair scheduling and completion procedures are being managed in coordination with the CAN Sigorta Claims Department.

Although the hailstorm of 29 August was brief, repairing the damage it left behind remains a careful process carried out one panel at a time.
