CAN Sigorta has been testing its digital home damage assessment service since 15 September 2026. Following positive results and improvements in operational efficiency during the trial period, the dedicated application page will go live on 1 November 2026.
The service allows an initial assessment of home damage to take place by live video during the first conversation, on the same day. This helps establish the visible extent of the damage, identify the information required and determine the next steps early in the process.
The aim is to reduce waiting times after a loss and shorten the time needed to assess and conclude a claim.
The First Assessment Takes Place During the First Call
During the live video call, the affected areas of the home and any visibly damaged fixtures, finishes or belongings can be shown. Information about when the damage was discovered and how it developed is recorded alongside the initial visual findings.
For example, following a water leak, staining on a ceiling, damaged wall finishes and affected furniture can be viewed during the first conversation. Requirements such as a plumbing report, additional photographs or a repair quotation can then be identified promptly.
This gives the claim an earlier starting point and helps clarify what is needed for it to progress.
Positive Results Since September
Testing since 15 September has produced encouraging results in the operation of the service and the efficiency of the assessment process.
Gathering information and viewing the damage during the first conversation has helped organise the initial stages of a claim. Identifying document requirements early also helps reduce avoidable delays caused by missing information or repeated requests.
For the customer, the first conversation provides a clear opportunity to show what has happened and understand how the assessment will proceed.
A Significant Reduction in Processing Times Is Expected
Based on the positive trial results, wider use of the service is expected to significantly accelerate the assessment and handling of home claims.
Completing the initial assessment on the same day allows document collection and technical review to begin earlier. Claims where sufficient evidence can be obtained remotely are expected to benefit particularly from this approach.
The time required to conclude an individual claim will still depend on the nature of the damage, the availability of supporting documents and any further investigation required. Same-day assessment refers to the initial review; settlement follows once the necessary assessment and policy checks are complete.
Further Inspections Where Required
Some damage requires an on-site inspection or specialist assessment. A live video call helps identify those requirements at an early stage so that the appropriate next steps can be arranged.
The digital assessment therefore provides an initial record and a practical basis for deciding how each case should proceed.
Application Page Available from 1 November
The dedicated digital home damage assessment application page will be available from 1 November 2026.
Building on the experience gained during testing, the service is intended to reduce waiting between the first notification and the next stage of assessment, improve the flow of information and help bring home claims to a conclusion sooner.
