CAN Sigorta’s premium income rose 85% in the first nine months of 2026

The North Cyprus insurer recorded a claims ratio of 25% for January to September. It has since introduced video calls for home insurance claims and aims to raise customer satisfaction from 84% to 95%.

Nicosia, 4 November 2026 — CAN Sigorta’s premium income rose 85% in the first nine months of 2026 compared with the same period last year. The company recorded a claims ratio of 25% for the period.

Video calls for home insurance claims

Homeowners can now show damage during their first video call with CAN Sigorta. If a pipe leaks beneath a kitchen sink, for instance, the homeowner can show the affected cupboards and flooring during the call. This helps the claims team record what happened and decide what to do next. With the new service, the company aims to raise customer satisfaction by 11 percentage points, from 84% to 95%.

Local agents and representatives across North Cyprus

Selected agents, regional representatives and community representatives work with customers across North Cyprus, from Kyrenia and Güzelyurt to Famagusta and İskele. Regional representatives provide a point of contact in their area, while community representatives help customers access support in different languages.

For many customers, the relationship with their agent continues between renewals. When they change vehicles or need to discuss a claim, they can speak to someone familiar with their circumstances and previous enquiries.

Live WhatsApp support around the clock

CAN Sigorta’s WhatsApp service has been active since 2025 and now operates as a 24-hour centre with live support. Customers can speak to a representative outside office hours, whether they need to report damage in the evening or have a policy enquiry at the weekend.

AI-assisted online motor insurance

CAN Sigorta has simplified its online third-party motor insurance process with AI assistance and fewer steps. Motorists can complete the purchase on their phones, and cover can take effect immediately once the purchase is complete.

Travel, comprehensive motor and home insurance are next

CAN Sigorta aims to make the full process for travel, comprehensive motor and home insurance available online, from quotation to policy issue. Video assessments are already in use before home policies are issued. On the Esentepe–Tatlısu road, for example, a homeowner can use a video call to show a swimming pool, solar panels and a separate garage so these features can be assessed before the policy is prepared.
